No where on any station anywhere is just news now. Good news doesn't sell. Every news organization has to sell Coke and Viagra. To make the money they have to, hyperbole and exageration rule the day.
Political anchors make more sense since you need polarization in order to get people to watch your station. With 10,000 stations to chose from everyone is fighting over a smaller crumb then what existed 30 years ago.
You have to do what ever you can to sell your station. Just plain news doesn't work anymore.
