Thoughts on Purge ranks
#1
I figured I'd post this in the public area just because it gives some more harmless insight into what we're trying to do here.

We've been talking about guild ranks. Right now there's 4:
Peon
Grunt
Captain
Clan Chief

I don't want to have too many arbitrary ranks, like "Veteran". So I think for now we're going to use those ranks, plus an "Alternate" rank.

Any character that hasn't been logged on for 2 months will be removed, alt or not.

Alternate = character is an alternate of some other main, which should be noted in your public note (which can be set by any officer). This is simply to make it easier for us to count how many "actual players" we have in our guild.

Peon = someone who has recently signed up but has not completed the steps required to be promoted to....

Grunt. Promotion to Grunt will require the following:
* Create a forum account and get it added to the Members usergroup (ask me to do this once you have your account)
* Decide on a profession (alchemy, blacksmithing, whatever)
* Get an officer to note your forum handle and your profession in your Public Note for the in-game roster

Captain = People I personally know who have access to invite new members. This rank is not a reward or a title, it's people I personally have a history with and trust. And Hoofhurr.

Anyone is free to organize a raid or start a group. If you're a Peon and can talk people into joining you for a raid, feel free. If nobody wants to come, oh well. We're a very casual guild.

Mainly what I look for in members is the right attitude. I'm not a big fan of guild meetings or long lists of rules, I don't much like Teamspeak or words like "mandatory", I just want people who like Player vs Player action and are not asshats. It would also help if you could not type like a moron. Stop asking me "can i join ur guild". No, anyone who types like a moron must not care what anyone thinks about them, and I would like it if you would care just a little bit if you're going to wear this guild tag.

Don't make us look bad and we got your back. And when I say "look bad" I mean MY definition of looking bad, which means things like "not attacking the Alliance".

Other than that, do what you like.

My thoughts.

1 month = the boot... it will keep the guild list cleaner.

(i can't imagine someone not logging in within 30 days. Besides, we can always re-invite them if we boot someone prematurely)

Rank names - I think it will be nicer if we change them from the defaults. I agree with Thudz in the other post... lets go with a Horde theme:

Alt
Peon
Grunt
Warlord (only one for officer i could think of)
War Chief

my 2 cents.

Normally I would say 30 days inactive would be enough...but, we have Military people here, and from personal experience, they can be called on to "leave" on a moments notice and can be gone for a long time, so we might want to consider how they can get back in if they are booted. This would apply to those who are away due to school and other RL issues as well.

IMHO
