What you are looking at is a cherry-picked data from the 1g model, where people where unsure about smartphones and current data where smartphones are pretty common.
Since that brief 3 month stint, iPhones are outselling Android devices again by a large amount. Pointing to that statistic like it means anything is actually statistically non-nonsensical.
I'm not an expert in this area, but I can't find any data to support your numbers. It seems to me that when comparing quarterly numbers (such as Q1 2010), Android OS unit sales are 2nd to RIM's OS pushing Apples OS to 3rd. Am I reading things like this wrong?

NPD’s wireless market research reveals that based on unit sales to consumers last quarter the Android operating system moved into second position at 28 percent behind RIM’s OS (36 percent) and ahead of Apple’s OS (21 percent).
"Hamilton is really a Colossus to the anti republican party. Without numbers he is an host within himself. They have got themselves into a defile where they might be finished but too much security on the republican part will give time to his talents and indefatigableness to extricate them. We have had only middling performances to oppose to him. In truth when he comes forward there is nobody but yourself who can meet him. His adversaries having begun the attack he has the advantage of answering them and remains unanswered himself.
