For music purchases, Amazon is the best in my opinion. They sell Mp3's. No DRM. When I buy music online now. its all Amazon.
For players, I just bought the new Sony player http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Walkman-S-540...429&sr=1-3
16 gig, cheap compared to similar sizes. It has speakers that are pretty nice for the size as well. Also a FM radio.
