Yall remember...

[Singularity]

The background of the story was this:

Aelis (a member of <P v P>) was told by <Equinoctis> to leave the zone. I wasn't there (we were in BGs), so Aelis will have to give you the whole story, but from what he said on Vent, they were telling all non-PvE guilds and lowbie characters to vacate the zone as it was becoming too crowded and laggy.

How it started:

The mixed Purge/PvP crew was running AB at the time (I was still a few weeks away from HWL) when Aelis busted in the Vent channel and told us that he was pretty much ordered to leave. So we asked him why, of course. Turns out that the Alliance and the Horde apparently had to work together in order to bring the mob(s) down, or some kinda handholding shit like that. Needless to say, all of us basin runners decided to put the AB games on hold and go check this out for ourselves, especially given the rude way EQ and the others had treated him.

Bulgy, Khragrum, Bones, and Aelis started gathering up the <P v P> guys, while me and <The Purge> in AB started grabbing Purge folks. All in all, we ended up with a full raid force--I think we even had a few overflow folks. Ahh, the fun was about to begin!

So we arrive in the zone, and whoa! Lagfest! Not only that, there's a bunch of PvE-oriented chat in /general, stuff about the health of the mobs, their locations, etc. I also see some stuff about protecting "the Alliance healers". So just to stir the pot, in /general I typed "target the Alliance healers, kill ALL red names you see".

BOOM! My screen lit up with tells. Lol! I remember Parkour yelling "WHAT ARE YOU DOING CK!? I THOUGHT YOU WERE COOL!" Then Restless started spamming me with some less-pleasant things, and a few others here and there. The best part? Grenix ORDERING me to leave the zone, and take <The Purge> and <P v P> guys with me.

I don't remember much of the actual fight, it was so laggy and I was being barraged with tells, plus someone had put up a thread on the CR forums bashing <The Purge> and <P v P> for coming to the zone and griefing, so I was alt/tabbing to read it (incidentally, the thread went to, like, 12 pages in one night, and was filled with some pretty witty comments by Purge folk! Wish we could resurrect it). But I do remember hearing on Vent how Arius and Fron from <Ewiges Licht> were being corpse camped and how all alliance healers had a massive rez timer from so many deaths. Also, I remember hearing someone on Vent saying something like "that other Alliance guild is over by the guards now", and someone else saying "Well, let's just kill the guards, too".

Lawl...oh man. Memories! :wink:

I wish I still had my old screenies. I think I had a few from that night.
