My computer just hit 5 years old last week. The proc, ram, MB & spinning drive are original. The only thing I've upgraded is my video card because my GTX 285 died a year or 2 ago. When I bought it my wife made me "promise" that I wouldn't replace it for 10 years. I think I should make that pretty easy(granted she didn't specify that I couldn't replace parts  ).
I spent $1500 on it about 5 years ago and have put another $500 or so in it in video card, SSD's and replace the case fans.
Intel Core i7 920, 2.67 GHz
12288 MB Ram(aka 12 Gig)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 TI
2x 128 GB SSD's
1 500GB Spinning drive
Windows 8.1
