That's pretty much exactly what I said was the danger with Apple: they were riding on a wave of "cool". Not sophisticated technological advancement or unique features, but just straight up "cool", mainly from a raft of slick marketing schemes.
If they're losing their edge of coolness, then they're losing most of what made them popular. Apple could be MySpace in 5 years if they can't make themselves cool again or innovate.
