The same was said about iPods, when a zillion cheaper MP3 players came out. All the pundits predicted consumers would go for the cheaper options. 10 year later, the iPod still utterly dominates the market. Even after a year of the Kindle Fire at $199, the iPad still has 68% of the worldwide tablet market. Amazon has 5%.
