Took me awhile to get used to my widescreen after gaming on a 19" Viewsonic gamer monitor for 5+ years.
ASUS 21' LED backlit monitor. Only downside is no vertical adjustment, you might need an adjustable monitor stand of some sort. You should not have to look down at all to your monitor.

Response time is important stat for LCD monitors used for gaming btw, and this is one of the quickest.
