Technically you could stop at the end of season 4. As I hear it, they had 5 seasons worth of continuous story but when they became unsure that the 5th season would be picked up, they wrapped up all the major storylines in season 4, and you'll get a definite sense of "The End" at the end of that. Season 5 was excellent, though, and has some of the best episodes of the whole show.
Very true, you must watch it from begining to end. Don't miss a single episode or you might miss something important.
Their are some movies that wrap up a few story lines after season 5. Essentially though Slamz is correct 1 through 4 are the meat of the story.
