This is a picture taken from the corner of my parent's street, which is about 20 miles North of Phoenix Arizona. I'm facing SouthWest.
This is the best image I could take. The blurry lights are the skyline of our town and outskirts of Phoenix. Above that is what I'm talking about.
It looked like someone had taken a piece of the Sun and scribbled lines in the sky. to the South there was what appeared to be a really large cloud of smoke over the area. That's what we noticed first, the bright cloud of smoke. I moved to the street corner and saw the bright streaks in the sky and started to take pictures.
Anyone else see this or have any idea what it was?

Why tell us about it afterwards?
Our government is doing some horseshit stuff. That seems like the type of thing you would disclose before it hit the media like a blazing fire.
Pentagon launches a missile at night for the first time in recorded history. It's just a rocket...

"Tomorrow at 9:30pm PST a spy satelite will be launched from Vandenburg Airforce base. The satelite will be used to monitor terrorist activities in the middle East. The gates to the airforce base will be open to the public, no cars will be checked, anyone can get right up to the rocket and take group photo's before the launch. Again, please keep this secret from those bad guys"
There, is that better!

Last summer I saw a rocket launch at night, so it's not hte first time something like this has happened.
What I thought was odd was that the Rocket seemed to shoot over the city and a cloud of smoke looked like it appeared over the city. It just seems to make more sense to launch a rocket toward the ocean doesn't it?

When we lived in San Diego and would make the road trip to Albuquerque, we'd go through Phoenix. I was always seeing weird stuff in the sky.
