there's a guy I play CS with who just started FFXI. He really, really enjoys it... even though it's just Beta he's doing.
It doesn't have PvP and even though they plan on putting it in eventually (supposedly), anytime PvP is done after the fact... it sucks.

My husband is trying it. The graphics are nice, although everything in the world seems pretty expensive. Hardly anybody speaks English, which makes it hard to find a group and very very interesting to ask for.. well, anything, but on a good note, it seems very well polished.
