Wow, the refs gave the game away. I feel bad for the clones. Clear fumble. Whistle 2 seconds after Iowa state was running own the field. Terrible.

Jake as a NYCer now, you are not allowed to engage in discussion with the proles in flyover country resigned to rooting for college sports.

I need to talk about football, but I'm not sure the Giants or Jets qualify as professional teams this year.

Hey watch it, that's a Hokie your talking about. Fumbles happen. I've seen this kid and he is better than a lot of running backs that I've seen go into the NFL. He's also a smart player. He'll be just fine.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm a Cleveland Browns fan.

Oh, wait, we have a winning record this year, nm.

The Texans should dress Yates/Keenum next week... Not likely going to happen. As much as I hate to wish anyone get hurt... I kind of wish Schaub would sprain his ankle or something and miss a game or 2... even though i'm not real big on Yates either.

Yates isn't gonna be much better and Keenum is not an NFL QB. We're likely stuck with him through the long haul this season unless he stretches his NFL record of most games with a pick-6 another few times.

yea, but at least watching Yates/Keenum not panic every time someone breathes on him would be more enjoyable. I'd rather lose with Yates/Keenum than Schaub. Hopefully this season will force us to draft a QB and/or cut Schaub, although that as well is unlikely.

I didn't watch much of the pre-season, but supposedly Keenum looked pretty good. He's definitely the most mobile of the bunch.

We owe schaub way too much money to cut him, you would have to hope to find a sucker to trade him to and take at least some of that cap space away.

I read somewhere that Schaub has already been paid all his guaranteed money, so they could cut him after this season and save a ton. Yea, here

Quote:If for some reason Schaub can’t get it done this year, the Texans are better off financially than you might think. Schaub signed a four-year, $69.7 million extension last season, but his guaranteed money cuts off after this season.

In other words, if the Texans decide to pull the plug on Schaub, it won’t cost them a cent more. According to ESPN’s Tania Tanguli, that’ll save Houston roughly $40 million if they wanted to get rid of him completely.
Not sure the validity of the article, but if it's true... This isn't baseball or hockey(not sure about NBA), where if you sign a contract, you're guaranteed all of it. In the NFL the contracts only really protect the team, not the player.

I thought he was owed some in 2014, guess not. Anyways, yeah - we are stuck with him for the rest of the season pretty much.

Legacy from Dad. He grew up in Cleveland so I grew up watching the Browns and Ohio State.

My NYC raised cousin married a guy from Ohio and now she's always making comments about both these teams on Facebook. It's embarrassing.
