The Purge ETF / Mutual fund - Vanraw - 03-09-2011 Way back when we started talking about stocks on this forum, after the 2008 crash, I created a google porfolio of every stock people mentioned and bought a fake $1000 of stock in each company. The date was November 10th 2008. I forgot about it. Just for the hell of it I just looked at the portfolio and it is up 965% Initial investment was $19,073.65 and now its worth $204,292.18. So while the market went very high, we all beat the hell out of everyone. The biggest gainer, was Comstock Mining, Inc. LODE. I dont recall who mentioned this stock at .019 a share, but I hope they bought it in real life. Cause they did really well. Re: The Purge ETF / Mutual fund - Grieve - 03-09-2011 I'm gonna bet that was Breand. I really have to do an update on our stock picking game sometime. Re: The Purge ETF / Mutual fund - Fretty - 03-10-2011 I'll gladly take part in a stock picking game if a new one starts. Re: The Purge ETF / Mutual fund - Breand - 03-10-2011 wasnt me, I bought Newmont Mining instead which is 17.2% up only (tho they have distributed a some nice dividends). Is PIR in there? I've been toting that all the time, that was a huge payoff. I still track my Purge portfolio, it's up almost exactly 100% big winners are Cablevision at 271% and PGH at 177% Re: The Purge ETF / Mutual fund - Vanraw - 03-10-2011 Breanden I think this was befor you started on PIR. This was a note where everyone was touting some stocks.l It was one thread. Novemeber 08 is when I made the portfolio. All I did was take every stock mentioned and stuck it in there. I never added or touched it after that. I couldnt find the thread, but didnt look really hard. Here is a pic of the portfolio. Re: The Purge ETF / Mutual fund - Grieve - 03-10-2011 Well at least there's no confusion about who picked Apple. ![]() The portfolio actually wouldn't be up that much without LODE. Re: The Purge ETF / Mutual fund - Fretty - 03-11-2011 Geez, I wish that was my portfolio, heh. Re: The Purge ETF / Mutual fund - Vanraw - 03-11-2011 Yea LODE is crazy. A penny stock 1k investment goes to 177k in 2 years. Who would have thunk. Re: The Purge ETF / Mutual fund - Breand - 03-11-2011 wow...that is cuh-razy. |
