I downloaded this free to play iphone game yesterday that is a pretty badass fps multiplayer for a hand held game. It has RPG aspects as well that let you upgrade your gear based on how well you do against other players. There's a catch though, if you want to earn the in-game credits that allow you purchase new gear you have to use the out-of-game currency of 'power cells' to play ranked games. You get power cells in various ways. You get 30 to start for free, you get a handful every 4 hours for free, you can get some by volunteering to follow the developer's in game promotions and you can outright buy more power cells through itunes for real world cash.
I have mixed feelings about this but thought it was a fascinating business model and wanted your input. I'll let you develop your own opinions and respond later on today. Read on...

Oh if there are any other ipod or iphone users out there that want to go head to head sometime you can search for friends and start up private matches. Any wi-fi connection will do!
