Ok, for my English class we are supposed to write down any words we come across that we do not know the definition. My problem is I have an extensive vocabulary already and none of the books I read have new words in them for me to learn. (I read a lot of SciFi). Anywho what I am asking is for some of you to give me some strange words so I can look up the definitions (unless you wanna do that too
).

Moreover I would try to find some common words and seek uncommon meanings.
Sound = transitive verb1: to measure the depth of : fathom2: to try to find out the views or intentions of : probe —often used with out3: to explore or examine (a body cavity) with a soundintransitive verb1 a: to ascertain the depth of water especially with a sounding line b: to look into or investigate the possibility <sent>2: to dive down suddenly —used of a fish or whale
