Google Chrome - Diggles - 09-03-2008

New web browser by Google.

I've only used it for an hour or so, not too keen on the layout or inability to change it around. It does seem to load pages a bit faster. Fonts look jagged on my Geforce7600GS compared to IE7

Plus, if the app's name is chrome, why is the icon some gay rainbow volleyball?

The look rubbed me the wrong way, ill see if it grows on me.

It prefetches like crazy.

- Jakensama - 09-03-2008

What does that mean in English?

Basically it tries to guess where you are going next and pre loads it for you.

your company blocks google or rights to install software?

on a side note, I decided try out Firefox 3. I like the interface and its definately faster than IE7, but fonts still dont look as good. I switch to override websites and use Verdana which helps some.

Any recommendations for smooth fonts in Firefox?

Google ToS agreements scare the crap out of me. That being said I love how fast Javascript renders in their new browser.

Haha it has porn mode to hide your history and such...

- Ulfen - 09-03-2008

Just tried Google Chrome, seems to load web pages even faster than Firefox 3.0, will have to play around with it some more to see if its fully functional.

- Waeloga - 09-03-2008

I don't like how it is thrashing my hard drive while it's idle.
It is too much to simply be pre caching.

- Ulfen - 09-03-2008

Turn off the DNS pre-fetching to see if effects anything.

The lack of addons is a no go for me.

Maybe if they can get a few good adons made.
Like adblock, noscript, flashblock, filterg ect..
