Microsoft is taking the x box kindle approach And selling at a loss. Will be interesting to see how well it does. On a similar note microsoft owns 17 percent of barnes and noble nook, and surface will have a nook client along with a kindle I'm sure. While this will not have the umpfff of the new ipad, it might not matter. The people I know that have a fire, are happy in that it runs what they want an need. It will be interesting whatch. Amazon will probably lose some kindle sales but that isn't a bad thing. For me I want to see how well microslop will integrate business needs and office. None of the tablets have been suxesfull in this space. Re: microslop - Breand - 08-17-2012 the threat from the Acer CEO gave me a nice laugh. Be another reason to not buy an Acer. Re: microslop - Grieve - 08-17-2012 It's definitely going to be a holiday season battle of the tablets. Now we just have to see how much the iPad mini (might be called the iPad Air) is going to cost... Re: microslop - Vanraw - 08-18-2012 Yea I think it will be interesting. To me the best thing that can / should happen, would be competative pressures forcing all prices down. It good to see Microsoft spend some of its billions of stored cash. |
