This topic falls into the whole apple android discusion points, but I post it here because microsoft is either going to go way up with windows 8, or puke. I dont think there is going to be a middle ground. The link below is a first look at the consumer preview of windows version 8.

I have not loaded this yet, but plan to soon. Its certianly a pre-beta from the sounds of it. If you guys have not been following, Microsoft is trying to, and best positioned to, create a true OS that works everywhere, PC, Phone, Tablet. This type of thing tied to the massive marketshare of business based PC's is what is generating excitment about Microsoft.
I have to admit, Im excited about the prospect if they do it right. From this wright up, it doesnt sound promising.

I can't see it turning around their phone/tablet fortunes, but we'll see. I think it will do fine on the desktop, just as any other O/S upgrade. I haven't downloaded it yet, have to give it a try.

Well I have to say if they deliver another vista pre service pack, a lot of companies like apple and google are going to have a wide open window (pun intended) in the OS market that has not been seen since the days before MSDOS.....
I don't think Microsoft is that stupid. But at the same time they have delivered some really crappy product in the past.they have always stood behind their monopoly.....
Could get interesting.
