Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Vllad - 06-23-2015 Jakensama Wrote:Ah yeah, I forgot he told them - some reason I remember him riding off alone.. That's what happens when there is that long between books. Jon gets the "Pink Letter" from Ramsey and Jon rationalizes that if he took the Watch to Winterfell he would be the only one responsible for making the Watch interfer with political events in the realm. He decides to sell this rationalization to the Watch. When he tells his boys they are like "fuck that we will be beheaded right beside you". Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Jakensama - 06-23-2015 Yeah, I re-read a summary after you mentioned that. For some reason I had remembered that he got the letter and was going to round up some wildlings to help and then got ambushed - I forgot he tried to sell the watch on helping him. He deserves getting stabbed in the books even more than in the show. Man, Starks are really bad at decision-making. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Skelas - 06-23-2015 Wasn't it a "I'm going to Winterfell, who's with me?!?!" moment and a bunch of the watch started cheering, then Wun Wun went batshit, and in the mess of trying to calm Wun Wun down, he got stabbity stabbed? The time line is too quick for it to be in response to the winterfell announcement. If I remember correctly, he did the winterfell speech, and immediately after it, there was the Wun Wun incident. It's been awhile though, so my memory could be off. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Vllad - 06-23-2015 Skelas Wrote:Wasn't it a "I'm going to Winterfell, who's with me?!?!" moment and a bunch of the watch started cheering, then Wun Wun went batshit, and in the mess of trying to calm Wun Wun down, he got stabbity stabbed? Yea that is pretty much how it went down but the Wun Wun incident was an accidental discraction more than a critical event. Bowen who leads the stabbings was critical of things like the wildlings because they didn't have enough food to feed them, he didn't like Jon allowing new Watch members taking their vows beyond the wall. He finally broke though when Jon's reads the Pink letter aloud. I don't think Bowen wanted to kill Jon but he was pretty clear that taking the Watch to Winterfell was treason in his eyes. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Vllad - 04-10-2016 I guess we can start expanding the longest post on the board come the end of this month? Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Vllad - 04-15-2016 http://www.theverge.com/2016/4/15/11437 ... s-episodes I find it hard to believe they can wrap this story up after this season in less than 13 episodes. I guess I need to be prepared for disappointment or everything being crammed into a very small space? Martin is putting out 2000 more pages of text on the story assuming he doesn't die first. That equates to 13 episodes? Martin is either blathering or they find the bulk of the story useless. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Slamz - 04-15-2016 It's Game of Thrones. They can wrap it up any time they like in about 1 episode. The northern wall falls over, a big evil army invades, literally everyone gets killed. The End. (Scenes of every known character being chased down and stabbed by wildlings, roll credits.) It wouldn't even be that surprising! Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Vllad - 04-15-2016 Slamz Wrote:It's Game of Thrones. Total sucker punch to the gut. Then we all ask why the fuck did I even read or watch this shit? Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Breand - 04-25-2016 Seems like what they are saying is the scope has become so large that they just have to infer and time jump a lot more than they might want to. Instead of showing something, they'll just say "This happened!" They actually did that plenty in the early seasons because their budget was much smaller (They never showed the battle that got Jaime captured, or the Tyrion battle with his mercenary crew). 23 Episodes (10 this season, 13 more) seems like plenty of time to wrap it up to me. They need to do something with Dany's story because it sucks so bad right now (sucked in the books too) and it looks like she'll spend an entire season again not doing anything about Westeros. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - strife - 04-30-2016 ...if they are going to show full body Melisandre naked... why wait until she takes off her glamour... assholes. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Vllad - 05-06-2016 Typically the seasons start slow. I have to say so far they haven't wasted any time now that they are off the martin track. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - strife - 05-06-2016 Next week's episode sounds like it's going to be bad ass and will probably confirm an ongoing fan theory. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Vllad - 05-09-2016 Strife Wrote:Next week's episode sounds like it's going to be bad ass and will probably confirm an ongoing fan theory. Apparently they are going to stretch that out as long as possible. Interesting that they decided to re-create the pink letter using Rickon instead of Sansa. That is my guess anyway. Poor Shaggy dog! Now that I think about it maybe they took that route so they don't have to pay for anymore CGI with exception of John's wolf. They certainly took the Umbers in a different direction than I thought. In the books GreatJon is still alive as a prisoner of Walder Frey and GreatJon's old Uncle placates to Roose only because Frey has GreatJon. SmallJon is dead in the books so I wonder who this young Umber is? The Umbers were the most loyal bannermen to the Starks and they live near the wall so I find it interesting they showed up with Rickon. I guess the whole undead isles thing is out. Shocking that all the work Danny did was completely un-done. What is the point of having her toil in Slavers bay the entire story only to have it all come crashing down? Maybe to show she sucks at ruling? Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Zouji - 05-09-2016 Vllad Wrote:Shocking that all the work Danny did was completely un-done. Who knows maybe the dragon swoops in when all of the Dothraki are gathered and they all pledge themselves to her? Wait that would advance the plot for her and give her character some meaning, so probably not going to happen. I have enjoyed the sword fights this season. The one with Briane of Tarth looked pretty damned realistic for historical gritty as hell armored knight fighting. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - strife - 05-09-2016 Vllad Wrote:Poor Shaggy dog! When they brought in Rickon and the Umber said he has proof, was repeating "please don't be a dire wolf head, please don't be a dire wolf head", and then they showed the fucking head... assholes. That leaves Summer, Nymeria and Ghost left. Supposedly there are rumblings that Nymeria is going to come back into the show... that would be cool. I'm curious to see how that storyline goes... and who actually helps John Snow now that his "watch has ended". Quote:Shocking that all the work Danny did was completely un-done. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Vllad - 05-16-2016 Ok I guess walking out of a burning building and standing in the flames unharmed is enough to get people to bend the knee? It certainly gives her plenty street cred and she didn't even need a dragon. If Tyrion's peace deal works and she can bring this army out west maybe we FINALLY have something. So far this has been my favorite season. Many in the past have had its moments of just going no where from a story perspective. This season has really been pushing forward. The first Stark reunion in 6 seasons was really awesome. Ramsay's face when he does another character was priceless. Just another day in a demented mind. I have a bad feeling about the Tyrell raid. I believe the Sparrow told the king about Margery for a reason. He is expecting this outcome. I wonder what he has planned? Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Diggles - 05-16-2016 Thats funny, I find this is by far the worst and slowest season. s6e4 was a least a moved things along some with Danny burning'em all. SNL even made fun of it for stretching out and filling time Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Zouji - 05-17-2016 If Danny truly unites all of the Dotherkia and all of her freed slaves, then they are all gonna starve to death. That would be around 500,000 people. The logistics alone would be enough to give someone nightmares. I doubt Danny is going to just leave it behind un-defended. The real question since the Dorne connection has been ruined in the show is how do you pull off a sea invasion from Mereen? I assume the show will gloss over that but doing sea invasions from thousands of miles away in wooden boats is quite a feat. In the books this part made sense where they were going with the plan but in the show they haven't even set that up yet and we are down to 16 more episodes. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Dharus - 05-17-2016 Insert the Ironborn and the horn. I think even in the books that's the invasion fleet. Who knows what they are doing with the Ironborn though. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Zouji - 05-17-2016 Also good luck shipping all of those Dotherki horses to the mainland. Half or more will probably break there legs with those choppy seas. Her vaunted cavalry will wind up becoming foot soldiers. Same with feeding the 500k dothraki(or however many they actually have). If there were no plot holes in the show, many things wouldn't have worked the way they do. I was surprised that was the way the meeting with the Dothraki went down. I was expecting a dragon to come and that would scare them to shit. I wasn't expecting her to take down all of the khal's at once. /edit And it turns out the frontal of Danerys in the unburnt scene actually was Emilia Clarke(if anyone cares). There were rumors floated out that she had a no-nudity clause in her contract, but that is not the case. She is still willing to do it if it pushes the plot along. Re: HBO - Game of Thrones SPOILERS INSIDE. you have been war - Skelas - 05-20-2016 Dan Sackheim, who directed episode 3 and 4 of this season, had an AMA on reddit, and had this to say about Rickon's direwolf head on display: redninjamonkey 422 points 15 hours ago Hi, great work! Are you positive that is Shaggydog's head? Kinda small for a direwolf, if you ask me... [–]DanSackheim[S] 753 points 14 hours ago Your right it does seem small. I had the same question, but I was assured by the creature maker that was responsible for crafting the head that it was the correct size. Good question. What an awesome answer, total hope for Shaggydog to actually still be out there killing shit.
